Reviewer Guideline

Guide for Referees

Referees play an important role in evaluating manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Art, Design, and Architecture (JADA+Arch) editors work closely with reviewers to strictly enforce the acceptance criteria and act quickly to accept or reject manuscripts. Your active cooperation as a reviewer is crucial to the success of the journals

Invite Review

Review email invitation includes links to accept or decline Before accepting, please make sure that the manuscript content is close enough to your area of expertise to allow you to provide useful input and a quick review If this is not the case, please decline; suggestions for alternative reviewers are welcome

Confidentiality

All materials associated with the review process are confidential, including manuscripts, Supplementary Material, author-provided material, referee reports, and other correspondence When you consult with colleagues or invite them to write a joint report, these materials must remain confidential We ask that you include the names and contact details of colleagues who helped write the report When reviewing a manuscript, please do not start a discussion with the author(s); instead, don't hesitate to get in touch with the editors with your question.

Analyzing the Manuscript and Writing the Report

The following guidelines are a tool to help you when reviewing the manuscript. Read the referral letter carefully; there may be editorial comments and questions and/or reference material and previous correspondence sent with the referral. When writing your report, use clear, simple statements and avoid overly negative or polemical comments.

We recommend dividing your review into three sections: (I) Comments to both authors and editors; (II) Recommendations; and (III) Comments to editors only.
