Abstract

Abstract- Climate change is increasingly recognized not only as an environmental issue but also as a global crisis with economic, social, and political dimensions. Mitigation and adaptation strategies play a central role in addressing this challenge through both scientific research and policy development. In particular, reducing greenhouse gas emissions is closely tied to sustainable development goals. Rising scholarly interest has significantly increased multidisciplinary publications on this subject.

This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of academic literature on “climate change mitigation” to uncover publication trends, structural characteristics, and collaboration networks. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database on May 8, 2025, using the keywords “CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION” (All fields) OR “CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION*” (All fields), resulting in 100,829 documents.

Results show that studies are mostly concentrated in interdisciplinary fields such as environmental science, engineering, energy, economics, and social sciences. The majority of publications appeared in peer-reviewed journals, with the United States, China, the United Kingdom, and Germany as leading contributors. Sustainability, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Science of the Total Environment were the most productive journals. This study aims to guide future research by systematically mapping scientific output and collaboration networks.
